Visitors to Albufeira are in for a treat. They’ll enjoy the type of climate that the Algarve region has become famous for - extended summers with sunshine that lasts for 300 days of the year. Last year Albufeira logged about 3000 hours of sunlight.

Albufeira’s climate is hot and dry with maximum temperatures between 15°C and 31°C and an average yearly rainfall of 500mm.

Even the sea’s warm, with the Mediterranean’s average temperature being between 14ºC and 22ºC.

Remember with climates like this, it’s best to stay out of the sun during peak times (between midday and 3pm). And with the Algarve’s sunlight hours being so plentiful, it’s not like you’ll be missing out. Also ensure you wear high-factor sun cream when out in the sun.
